My Favourite Game
It's funny when you start thinking about questions like this and the amount of different memories and feelings that come flooding back. Them nostalgic feelings like when you got your first playstation 1 at Christmas when you were only 5 years old and you played Rayman all day. The memory of saving up all your confirmation money to finally buy that playstation 2 with the Jak and Daxter game that you wanted for months. Over the years theres been a lot of games played and completed and now as I get older I find myself going back to gaming. There was a long period of time in my late teens early 20s that I never lifted a controller and was just too busy with other tasks to sit down and give my all in trying to complete a final boss. Recently for my 30th birthday I was gifted a switch and it seems Im getting back into the grove of exploring and defeating my enemies one by one (thanks to Breath of the Wild).
But back to the question at hand thinking back at the many games i played over the past 25 years, I think my favourite game would be Final Fantasy X. This came out at the height of my gaming obsession and I remember buying it in a market for super cheap and hoping it would work when I got it home. Walking around exploring Zanarkand playing as titular character Tidus really was the peak of my playstation experience. As well with badass side characters Yuna, Riku and Lulu whats not to love.
I was obsessed with Final fantasy IX but never got to complete it so when this next game was released and the first to be released on the PS2 it was a whole new level of gaming I needed to be apart of. Thinking back on the game it gives me a great feeling of nostalgia and happiness. I don't even remember much of the plot but I remember how the game made me feel and I remember how great it was when I finally defeated Seymour the most horrendous boss I think I ever came across. He just would not die!!

Hello Kevin this was a cool post to read and seeing the pictures of the ps2 and the controller really brings back memories as I have one myself all the way up to now being the Ps5, I enjoy keeping and collecting them. Final fantasy has always looked like a game that I would love to get into so I will have to check it out. Nice post overall Kevin.
ReplyDeleteBrining back some great memories with this PS2 nostalgia trip Kev though I can't say I've ever played a single game in the Final Fantasy Franchise. Despite the age gap I'd say you and I had a similar childhood when it comes to gaming except I was spending my communion money and not Confirmation money on the PS2 I just hope your faith has stayed strong like your love of games
